Jeera Kashaya is a healthy drink. It is prepared just like coffee or tea, but instead of coffee or tea powder, here kashaya powder is used. Usually Jeera Kashaya powder contains powder of cumin seeds, corriander, pepper etc. Some traditional Kashaya powders may contain more than 10 to 15 raw materials.
Mahu Multiples' Jeera Beverage:
Jeera Beverage is a commercial word given to Jeera Kashaya Powder. Readers are requested, not to confuse the word 'kashaya' with Ayurvedic medicine. In undivided South Canara, North Canara, Shimoga and Kasaragod it is a custom of olden days, when present Horlics, Bournvita, are not popular, people used to give children only Jeera Kashaya (Jeerige Kashaya), Coriander Kashaya (Kottambari Kashaya) and Bellada Paanaka. Now also you can find children, young people and aged one, who is treating drinking coffee or tea as bad habit, and they will drink only Kashaya.

The Main ingredient: Sucrose, Jeera Powder, Coriander Powder, Roasted wheat Flour, Pepper and other spices.
How to prepare: To make one cup of Jeera Kashaya, take one third of milk and two third of water in vessel. Boil the mix of water and milk and add two spoonfuls of Madhu Jeera Beverage Powder. Stir well for two minute, when boiling and strine the preparation (or filter the preparation with help of a cotton cloth) into a cup. Your Jeera Kashaya ready to serve.
