Garcinia indica

Garcinia indica is the scientific name of Kokum fruit. Kokum Trees are found in the forest regions of Dakshina Kannada, Kasaragod District of Kerala, Uttara Kannada, Goa Ratna Giri and some other sorrounding areas of Maharashtra.

A Beautiful male Kokum Tree, which rarely gives fruits.

Plant and Plantation:

  Naturally Kokum Trees found in forest. In recent years the Kokum got a place in agricultural garden also.

The reproduction of Plant can be done either by seeds or by roots. Now the system of grafting is introduced to get early crop. But the yeild is comparitivly less.
